The Association

Profile & History

Italian Evangelical Christians for Israel (EDIPI) is an association that was birthed during this unique period of history when Israel is once again a nation. Today, with our own eyes, we are witnessing the return of the Jewish Diaspora to t he land of Israel. EDIPI is an association that purposes to serve as a bridge between the Italian Evangelical Community and the Jewish people in Italy, Israel and beyond. This association of Italian Evangelicals recognizes that the Gentile church is a branch that was grafted into the natural olive tree of Israel. To this end, EDIPI provides the Italian Evangelical community with resources and Biblical teaching that promote a correct comprehension of Christianity from a Hebraic perspective rather tha n a foreign or non-biblical viewpoint.

On Sunday, January 5th, 2003, Dr. Rinaldo Diprose, Director of Studies at I.B.E.I. (Italian Evangelical Bible Institute) and Italian Evangelical believers convened in Rome for the first meeting of Italian Evangelicals for I srael (EDIPI). This gathering of participants met to define the responsibilities and functions of team members and to plan for future gatherings to demonstrate their support of Israel and the Jewish people. Two visionary members of this team, who prom oted this gathering, were Pastor Ivan Basana from Padova and Professor Angelo Lodetti from Palermo. An invitation to attend this meeting was extended to pastors, representatives and leaders from the various Italian Evangelical Churches throughout the na tion of Italy. After seeking the Lord in prayer for wisdom and spiritual guidance, the goals and objectives were clearly established for EDIPI and persons were identified who would help develop EDIPI’s future initiatives. EDIPI is committed to building relationships with Israeli Institutions and ministries and is currently recognized by the State of Israel as an Italian Evangelical Organization that is committed to supporting Israel and the Jewish people.

Purpose & Objectives

1. Provide Italian Evangelical Christians with correct teaching regarding
the role of Israel in God’s Biblical plan and the Hebrew roots of the Christian faith.

2. Enable the Italian Evangelical Church to be aware of the connection between the unbiblical teaching of replacement theology and anti-Semitism. Additionally, to call the church to ask the Lord for forgiv eness for her treatment of Israel and promote reconciliation with the Jewish people.

3. Support Aliyah (the return of the Jewish people to the land of Israel), because the Lord has eternally given the promised land of Israel to the sons of Jacob and he is restoring this land to the Jewish pe ople once again.

4. Offer material and spiritual assistance and encouragement to both Messianic and non Messianic Jewish people.

5. Facilitate opportunities for the Italian Evangelical church to rediscover the Jewishness of Jesus and to provide a means for the people of Israel to hear the message of the Messiah.
